My Favourite K-Beauty Skincare Products
After introducing K-Beauty (Korean beauty) products into my skincare routine, I noticed how much healthier my skin looked and felt. I love the K-beauty approach to skincare. It's all about an anti-aging approach to skincare to achieve hydrated, fresh and nourished skin that looks radiant without makeup, and is something that can't be faked even with makeup. Basically, it's skincare goals! I recently discovered some K-Beauty skincare products while traveling in Asia, and wanted to share my tried and tested current favourites.
CLEANSER: Laneige Multi Cleanser ($29)
This is a foaming cleaner that leaves your skin bright, fresh and clean. It is infused with papaya which naturally helps to exfoliate the skin, remove makeup and impurities. It can be used as a daily cleanser morning and night, but I like to switch up my cleansers based on my skin condition for the day and only use this when I need to wash off makeup on my face. It truly leaves your skin feeling very clean!
CLAY MASK: Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask ($20)
This mask contains Jeju volcanic clay and does wonders for shrinking pores and removing sebum. My skin feels really clean, soft and refreshed after leaving this on for 10 minutes. I also noticed it helped a lot with getting rid of breakouts and calming my skin when it is active. A little goes a long way with this product! You only need a very thin layer with this product otherwise it doesn't set properly and the ingredients don't penetrate the skin as effectively. The smooth texture makes it really easy to apply and the product doesn't get crumbly after sitting on your skin. It's definitely my favourite clay mask by far!
SERUM: Sulwashoo First Care Activating Serum EX ($84)
This is my first product I've tried in the Sulwashoo skincare brand, and I'm really happy with it! It's a serum that is supposed to hydrate and balance you skin to give a healthy and glowing look. I have very delicate and sensitive skin, and I found that the serum was very soothing and did give my skin a boost of radiance. When splurging on a luxury beauty product like this, I have high expectations and this doesn't disappoint. The bottle is made of a solid quality material and feels really nice in your hand. The pump dispenser is smooth and satisfying to use as well. It's a product that I feel confident in repurchasing.
SHEET MASK: Dr. Jart Hydration Love Rubber Mask ($17)
I really like all the Dr. Jart sheet masks I've tried, but this mask is special because of its material and the fact that it is super fun to use! It is made of a material derived from green seaweed extract and is infused with glycerin, aloe extract, castor oil and jojoba. Although it's called a rubber mask, it doesn't feel at all like rubber but rather a thick gel. It is a really weird, fun and interesting mask to use because you look like a blue alien when you wear it, but it makes for a great time with friends or even your hubby haha. At the higher than average price point for a sheet mask though, it's worth it in the sense that you get more out of it compared to thin sheet masks that allow the moisturizing serum to evaporate quickly. I liked that it left my skin more firm, supple and dewy looking.
MOISTURIZER: Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream ($45)
This moisturizing cream has a very luxurious rich texture that instantly left my skin hydrated and glowy. I was pleasantly surprised at how light it felt on my skin as well despite how rich it looks. When my skin gets very dry and tired, it helps to replenish and relief my skin. The product absorbs really well into my skin and leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated.
