I'm so glad that summer is in full bloom here in Vancouver, and I've been enjoying every moment that I get to wear my favourite summer pieces. I've also discovered new brands this past month that are a great fit for petites. I've decided that I would recap all my favourite outfits I wore throughout the month as regular update on my blog and share them with you. Enjoy the first of my #whatiwore series!
The weather the past couple days has been really hot due to the heatwave, and I've been enjoying the fact that I don't need to wear a jacket outside anymore. I don't mind hot weather (minus the extreme humidity) and since it was way too warm to have dinner inside my house last night, I decided to prepare a picnic style dinner for Justin and myself. We are very lucky to live near a beautiful park that's ideal for a picnic.
I was excited to wear this outfit for our picnic, and styled it with my favourite pieces. Let me share more details about these particular pieces from brands I'm enjoying:
Spring is finally here, and this season there's one particular print that has me feeling all the spring vibes: gingham! You've probably seen this lovely, feminine and super cute look trending all over Instagram or Pinterest. I personally adore it because it's so versatile and sophisticated in an understated way.
While I was traveling in Asia, I found the perfect off-the-shoulder cropped black and white gingham print top, and I was overjoyed to be able to finally wear it once the weather signalled that springtime was upon us.
I styled the top with a white distressed denim skirt and my black YSL bag for a more edgy look. I love to mix feminine prints with something edgy to balance out a look and add an unexpected twist.
Ever since I chopped off my hair, it's been a big change for me getting used to my lob length cut but I'm so glad I did it. I often get asked how I style my hair, so I've decided to show you exactly how I do it in this hair tutorial video. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Hello my lovelies,
Today I'll be sharing my favourite eyebrow and eye liner makeup with you. I've been using the liquid eyebrow and eye liner made by Amaterasu Beauty for a long time now, and am really excited to partner with them for this post. Amaterasu Beauty is a Vancouver company that was formerly known as Geisha Ink. The name Amaterasu was chosen by the brand founder in honour of the Japanese sun goddess, and I adore that unique story behind the brand.
After introducing K-Beauty (Korean beauty) products into my skincare routine, I noticed how much healthier my skin looked and felt. I love the K-beauty approach to skincare. It's all about an anti-aging approach to skincare to achieve hydrated, fresh and nourished skin that looks radiant without makeup, and is something that can't be faked even with makeup. Basically, it's skincare goals! I recently discovered some K-Beauty skincare products while traveling in Asia, and wanted to share my tried and tested current favourites.
Time does fly when you're having fun. It's been almost 7 months since Justin and I got married, and I wanted to do a personal blog post about life after the wedding. Ever since I got married, the most commonly asked question I've received is "How's married life?" followed by the unavoidable "Are you going to have kids yet?".
It's easy for me to answer the first question. Married life has been everything I've wanted so far. That's because I've consciously been working on making it how I want it to be. As for the second question, well... that's an answer for another time.
Vancouver in the summertime is so lovely. Being able to walk around the city with an almond latte (my fave!) or a cold fresh pressed orange juice in hand while the weather is warm yet breezy makes me fall in love with the city I live in all over again. Most of all, after traveling around the world I've realized how fantastic the food and ingredients grown and offered here are.
've been blogging for a while now, and I have met so many wonderful new people through social media and discovered new opportunities through what I do here. It's been an amazing journey so far, and I appreciate everything about it.
I'm a naturally shy person, but blogging has made me become more open and I want to continue to open up to my viewers as I continue to blog. I realized that there must not be a lot of viewers who really know me outside of social media, so I wanted to do a light and fun personal post sharing 5 fun facts about myself so that you can get to know me better!
Now that I'm in my late twenties, I'm more conscious about my skincare routine and am proactive about nourishing my skin from inside out so that I can age gracefully and confidently. Aging is something natural that we all experience in our lives. Wrinkles, sagging skin and fine lines are just part of life. I fully accept it and want to embrace it by taking steps now in my twenties to set myself up for success with a future that doesn't involve invasive procedures, needles or knives.
I've developed a strong interest in wellness with the goal of leading a more healthy lifestyle ever since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 24. The moment I realized I could lose my health, was the moment I decided to change my lifestyle. With the amount of knowledge I've gained through my own research and learning from my health and skincare professionals, I am always excited to share the beneficial things I've learned with my readers. In this post, I want to share you with about a super powerful and precious protein: COLLAGEN.
I've learned to appreciate turmeric ever since I realized how effective it was in fighting my rheumatoid arthritis symptoms and stiff joints that can get agonized by cold winter weather. It also helps with clearing your skin as turmeric is great for healing acne scars.
Turmeric and ginger are full of powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Combining these two ingredients and making it into a hot latte is a delicious and nutritious elixir when you need a health boost. Don't forget to add the black pepper as well! It is important as it increases the effectiveness of the turmeric by enhancing bioavailability, extent of absorption and serum concentration.
Going to Seattle for the weekend or a for a day trip from Vancouver is a really accessible and easy thing to do if you're looking for a short getaway. Justin & I have been down to Seattle and Bellevue a few times in the past, mostly to shop and visit relatives. Earlier this year for NYE '17, we spontaneously decided to ring in the new year out of the city and drove down south of the border. We stayed downtown at Thompson Seattle, which was such a treat. It's a perfect staycation spot and splurge worthy if you're looking to treat yourself. I've listed my highlights of the hotel in this blog post.
Kauai is easily one of my favourite places I've ever been to! This is a very long overdue post, but I loved my time there so much I had to share some of my travel highlights and must-do things on the beautiful island.
Justin & I spent 6 days in Kauai as a mini-moon trip after our wedding in Maui last year. It was the perfect place to relax, chill out and spend time in some of the most majestic landscapes I've ever seen. A friendly local barista there welcomed us to the island by saying "Kauai is for the newly wed and nearly dead" hahaha.
It was quite a journey to get to the island itself. We took a flight from Singapore and arrived in Male the night before. We stayed at a local hotel for the night and then took a small plane from the Male Airport to a smaller airport. The flight was about an hour long. Afterwards, we got on a speedboat which was about 45 mins to the resort.
